Karaoke night for KJI campers

Many Kansas Journalism Institute(KJI) camp members chose to sing their hearts out on Tuesday night in the lobby of Oliver Hall.  From genre to genre, the laughs, smiles, and embarrassment of singing in front of a large group was definitely prevalent.

While some campers were brave enough to sing(or scream) lyrics to their favorite songs, most campers decided to enjoy the entertainment rather than be a part of it.

Lauren Fox from Barstow High School was extremely nervous to sing in front of the KJI campers. Fox hoped to get all of the Barstow newspaper staff members to sing along with her to ease the jitterness.

Kelsey Crosby from Olathe North High School decided to sit back and watch the action instead of singing. She said that she was not comfortable doing karaoke because she is a self-claimed “bad singer”.

Molly Cruse from Blue Valley North was also not planning on singing karaoke on Tuesday night. She did say, however, that if she did sing, she would sing anything by Taylor Swift.
